Hi, I’m Emily, former Head Steward (Recording Secretary) at CAPS-UAW District 1 out of the Los Angeles Water Board, bringing a strong track record of union involvement, leadership, and contract enforcement. I joined CAPS in 2021 when we had long been out of a contract. Over the years, I have been actively involved in the Contract Action Team, member representation, picketing while on strike in 2023, practice pickets, rallies, membership meetings, observing bargaining, and most recently as D1 head steward. 

My goals include empowering members through education, expanding stewardship, and fostering a more engaged and inclusive union community. I am a proud member of the Scientists for a Democratic Union (SDU) slate and look forward to continuing to serve CAPS-UAW through the Bylaws and Constitution Committee.
