Robert Haerr for UAW Constitutional Convention Delegate

I’m Robert Haerr, an organizer and former ES with CDPH.  I’m your CAPS-UAW Recording Secretary and running on the Scientists for a Democratic Union (SDU) slate as a candidate for UAW Constitutional Convention Delegate. I’ve organized alongside many of you in the fight for a better contract and for better working conditions. With the many challenges ahead, I believe that organizing the way we as workers can fight for our communities and our rights in our workplaces.

I’ve served our union in various roles for the last two years as Recording Secretary, organizer, District 4 chair, Bargaining Committee member, and the Oakland strike captain. My goals are to empower colleagues to enforce their rights using collective action, build a democratic union and workplaces, and to win better contracts for scientists. My vision for our union is one where high participation member actions win bigger paychecks, more rights for State Scientists, and where workplaces are supportive communities for workers. I ask for your vote in this election since I believe we must organize Union scientists and all workers for the kind of power needed to deliver on the needs of our union siblings. I want to represent our members in the larger labor movement and advance the interests of scientists.
