I am running for District 3 Head Steward on the Scientists for a Democratic Union slate. I have been a member of different unions throughout my career and CAPS-UAW is a fighting union!  

As a member-led union, WE are the union, and together we are strong! That is why building a robust Steward structure is essential to our success. The steward structure is the base on which our solidarity and power is being built. This structure will ensure that all members have the opportunity to be heard because they will know their union representative. That person will be their colleague not a consultant who has never been a state scientist.

I work as an Environmental Scientist at the Department of Food and Agriculture. I’ve started facilitating Solidarity Break meetings at CDFA and have been actively working to organize scientists and recruit new leaders at CDFA worksites across Sacramento.  As a Head Steward, I will work diligently with our Stewards to build knowledge, solidarity, and structure to enforce your hard-won rights.

I am proud to be a member of CAPS-UAW and running on the Scientists for a Democratic Union (SDU) slate because together we will build a union that continues to fight for the dignity and equity that we deserve.
