Greetings fellow CAPS-UAW members! My name is Mia Roberts, and I am a Senior Environmental Scientist (Specialist) at CDFW running for a position on the Constitution and Bylaws Committee as a member of the Scientists for a Democratic Union (SDU) slate.

I have been honored to serve the membership in previous elected positions, including Director At Large on the Executive Board from 2021-2025, Chair of the original Member Action Committee (MAC) that planned and implemented our first ever strike, and a member of the Catalyst Committee which launched our efforts to reimagine the leadership structures of our union.

I hope to earn your vote and continue to serve you on the Constitution and Bylaws Committee by applying what I have learned about our union and the democratic process to the stewardship of our bylaws. I care deeply about the democratic union structure we have built together, especially during these unprecedented times when democracy is under attack, and I hope to be a part of its continual improvement and growth. Democracy is power, and our bylaws facilitate our democratic process. Vote for me to continue building our union’s strength through democracy by stewarding our bylaws.
