Jacqueline Tkac for UAW Constitutional Convention Delegate

My name is Jacqueline Tkac, a former Scientist at the Water Boards and now an organizer with CAPS-UAW. I’m your CAPS-UAW President and running on the Scientists for a Democratic Union (SDU) slate as a candidate for the UAW Constitutional Convention Delegate.

Over the last four years, I’ve served as CAPS-UAW District II Director, Bargaining Chair, President, and in late May, I decided to dedicate my career to CAPS-UAW by joining our staff. I’ve worked alongside other member leaders to lead the reform that has transformed CAPS-UAW into what it is today, a more militant, democratic, and truly member-led union.

I am running to strengthen democracy and member power at every level of our union and solidarity across the labor movement. This includes increasing investment in organizing, modernizing financial processes to reduce out-of-pocket costs for members doing union work, and protecting and expanding democracy in our union by safeguarding One Member, One Vote for International Officers. It also includes showing up boldly for all workers. Fighting for immigrant worker protections, supporting pro-worker green industrial policy that creates good union jobs while also combatting climate change, expanding our union’s political power, and advancing a worker-led vision for science that invests in public research funding and builds long-term union careers.

Our strength as workers relies on fighting for each other, across all sectors and the broader labor movement. The vision of the SDU slate includes building movement-centered leaders, not leader-centered movements. A culture where learning, teaching, and organizing are part of who we are as workers in the struggle for justice, dignity, and respect in the workplace.

I would be honored to represent you at the 2026 Constitutional Convention. I ask for your vote so we can continue building a stronger and more powerful labor movement.
